You Read My Mind! Game: How to Play and Win

Quick Answer

You Read My Mind! is a fast-paced party game where two players try to match cards by guessing the same word. The first to reach 5 points wins.

How to Play You Read My Mind!

1. Setup: Shuffle the deck of word cards and place it face down in the center. Each team of two players sits opposite each other. Make sure both players can see the cards clearly. A common mistake is sitting too far apart.
2. Round Start: One player from the first team draws two cards from the deck and places them face up on the table. Both players on that team now have 30 seconds to say the same word that connects the two cards. Don't overthink it. The most obvious connection is often the best.
3. Scoring: If both players say the same word within the time limit, their team scores 1 point. If they don't, no point is awarded. Play then passes to the next team. A common mistake is trying to be too clever. Stick to simple, common words.
4. Winning: The first team to reach 5 points wins the game. For a shorter game, play to 3 points. If the game is dragging, lower the point target to keep it moving.

• You Read My Mind!: Two players attempt to link two random cards by the same word. This core mechanic makes the game a test of shared vocabulary and quick thinking, not actual mind-reading.
